Bios for the Stone Family
Henry
H. “Hank” Stone
Hank was born in Merced, on December 6, 1930. An only child, he grew up
in the Salinas area. His father, Carol H. Stone, was the regional
manager for Golden State Creamery. Upon graduation from Salinas High
School, he attended Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, majoring in Animal
Science. While in college, he played both baseball and basketball on
freshman and JV teams, until he took the job as a student herdsman at
the Sheep Unit. He was a proud member of the winning Livestock Judging
Team at the Cow Palace in 1951, and also on the Dairy Judging Team in
1952. His education was interrupted by Uncle Sam in 1952, when he was
drafted into the Army. As luck would have it, he wound up as a meat
inspector with the U.S. Veterinary Corps, working in boning and packing
plants in the San Jose area. After his discharge from the Army he had
jobs as a ranch
manager in
Ukiah and Fort Bragg.
Scott

Scott was born in 1957 in the small coastal town of Fort Bragg in
California and was raised in Sacramento and Woodland, Ca. After
graduating from Woodland High School Scott attended California State
Polytechnic University in San Luis Obispo where he majored in
Agricultural Business Management. While at SLO Scott played three years
on the Mustangs College Soccer team.
Upon graduation from Cal Poly, Scott worked for two years as an agricultural loan officer for Chico Production Credit Association in Chico, Ca. where he worked on all aspects of Farm and Ranch production and equipment loans. His next job was working as a Pest Control Advisor for three years for a Chemical and Fertilizer Company in Davis, Ca. Karen
K. Stone

Karen was born and raised in Hollydale a small town in
Southern
California, where she fell in love with horses. For 13 years,
Karen dedicated her life to perfecting her skills in riding by
traveling the western states showing primarily Arabian horses winning
at the National level over the years.
Karen graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. While at Cal Poly, she worked as a Veterinary technician at the campus Veterinary Hospital for three years. She also participated on the Cal Poly Feedlot Project, Goat Showmanship Team, ...
Kenneth
C. "Casey" Stone

Casey was
born in 1966 in Sacramento, California. In 1969, his family
moved to Woodland, where he attended Woodland schools. While
at Woodland High School, he was very active in FFA and served as
Chapter President.
He attended California State University, Chico, where he majored in Business Administration. At Chico State, he was very active in the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity, and served as Noble Ruler. While at Chico, Casey worked for a variety of ag-related businesses, including chemical research, hybrid sunflower seed production, and kiwi and almond production. Casey also met his future wife, Angela, while attending Chico State. ...
Angela
L. Stone

Angela was born in Redding and grew up in Big Valley where she was
active in sports and student government. She met Casey in the
fall of 1986 at Chico St. and eventually roped her cowboy into marital
submission, i.e., bliss. While at Chico, she was President of
the Alpha Gamma Rho auxiliary group, the Little Sisters, and as a
newlywed, served as the District 16 Representative to the State Farm
Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers Board. Her favorite “job”
is being a wife and mother, but in between, she coordinates tours,
events, and weddings at the Ranch and assists Casey with jerky
sales. ...
